New Venue, Theme and Partnership

Following the tremendous success of its last event, which drew over 2,000 attendees, Sampson County Ag Day is gearing up for an even bigger and better experience in 2026. The biennial celebration of Sampson County’s primary industry will take place on Saturday, March 21, 2026, promising an unforgettable day of hands-on activities, education, and entertainment for all ages.

In a major development designed to accommodate growing interest and offer new opportunities, the event is moving to a new, expansive location and welcoming a new co-host. Sampson Ag Day 2026 will be held at Sampson Community College (SCC), a partnership that is set to unlock fresh ideas and possibilities.

N.C. Cooperative Extension – Sampson County Center, the longtime host of Ag Day, and SCC staff are joining forces, working tirelessly to organize a day that will captivate visitors. The move to Sampson Community College will offer more outside space for interactive exhibits, agricultural demonstrations, food trucks, and entertainment, while still providing ample inside space for product showcases and educational displays. Crucially, the new venue will also offer more parking spaces, ensuring a smoother experience for the thousands of anticipated guests.

Celebrating American Agriculture, Sampson’s Foundation

Sampson County’s agricultural industry is the backbone of the local economy, contributing over $2 billion to our state’s economy. This event is designed to give attendees a comprehensive understanding of this vital industry, shining a spotlight on the incredible work local farmers do year-round to sustain our county, state, and nation.

Ag Day is a celebration of our local farmers and the incredible work they do. We want everyone to come and experience the heart of agriculture, learn about its significance, and have a great time doing it. The new partnership with Sampson Community College is a perfect fit, allowing us to expand and enrich the Ag Day experience for every visitor.

The core mission of Sampson Ag Day remains providing an opportunity to delve into the world of agriculture and highlighting the vital role it plays in the local community and beyond. It’s an excellent platform for people to connect with their agricultural roots, understand the challenges and rewards of farming, and appreciate the importance of our farmers.

Our theme for 2026, “Celebrating American Agriculture” fits perfectly to celebrate America’s 250th birthday! You will feel the patriotism surrounding the event and we encourage all participants and attendees to show their pride and appreciation for our American Farmers.

Activities and Attractions

The day’s activities will be carefully planned to provide a well-rounded experience for attendees, whether they are seasoned veterans or newcomers curious about agriculture. Visitors will have the chance to learn about:  field crops, farm animals, gardening, nutrients and soil science, farm safety, just to name a few.

Our hope for 2026 is to bring back crowd favorites from previous years, such as the pony rides, the thrilling mechanical bull, and the famous Hubb’s Farm barrel train. These attractions, along with the promise of great food and entertainment, are set to make the day educational and fun.
