Collapse ▲Where else can you learn first-hand about harvesting crops, managing a hog or turkey farm, planting a garden, farm safety, and paint a barn quilt, all in one day? Sampson County Ag Day will be held at the Sampson County Agri-Exposition Center, at 414 Warsaw Road, Clinton, October 30, 2021, 10 a.m.–4 p.m. The N.C Cooperative Extension of Sampson County staff, Convention & Visitors Bureau, and many volunteers have worked hard to put together a fun-filled, educational day to learn all about the #1 industry in and around Sampson County…you got it, agriculture. Activities are being coordinated to provide a well-rounded experience for all, learning how our local farmers harvest field crops, raise livestock and poultry, utilize and manage nutrients in soil, and best of all: provide the food and fiber to feed and clothe us all. Come see a drone demonstration, ride a barrel train from Hubb’s Farm, or play 9 holes of mini-golf.
For the first time ever at Ag Day, we will have a stage with live entertainment, featuring Charles Carlisle & the Grandpas, Tim Hair and the Indian Outlaw Band, Captain Jim is Magic, and Jerry Carroll – Ag Comedian! A wide variety of food trucks will be on-site all day, along with NC State University Howling Cow ice cream to enjoy!
Be sure to mark your calendars to celebrate the harvest season in the county that provides $1.25 billion to our state economy through agriculture. For more information on how you can be a part of this great experience, call N.C. Cooperative Extension, Sampson County Center at 910-592-7161, visit our website, or our Facebook page at N.C. Cooperative Extension – Sampson County Center. We look forward to seeing you on Saturday, October 30.
