Forests and Farms are good for North Carolina! Our Partner’s Corner introduces three organizations that have supported the development of an online landowner’s dashboard. Landowners play an integral role in sustaining the nation’s working land economies, promoting conservation and ecosystem services, and supporting compatible land use near our nation’s military installations. Private property owners of working forests, farms, and ranges, and natural lands, provide a necessary mosaic across a landscape for the production of food, fiber, and energy, high-quality soil, air, and water, critical habitat for wildlife and other ecosystems services, outdoor recreation, and compatible land use for military readiness.

Private lands constitute two-thirds of all U.S. lands and as a result, it is often the landowner who provides connectivity across the landscape, lessening the loss of these services that working and natural land economies provide to our nation. Some of the nation’s strongest advocates for landscape management, this site is dedicated foremost to the private landowner, for all that, they contribute to North Carolina. This site is also dedicated to the technical professionals – the consultants and technical leaders, the biologists, scientists and researchers, and the outreach managers who provide technical guidance and fiscal assistance, who test and consider the best ways to improve, innovate, and incentivized land management approaches now and for the future.
