This course will cover the basic elements of safe chainsaw operation. Topics will include parts of a chainsaw, personal protective equipment-including parts, proper fit, and importance, chainsaw maintenance, and chainsaw use.
Protective equipment and chainsaws will be provided, but you are encouraged to bring your own if available. You will have the opportunity to start a chainsaw and cut slices, or "cookies" from logs if you feel comfortable, but it is not a requirement.
This workshop costs $10, which includes lunch and materials. Registration is required by Thursday, May 23 at 10:00 PM. Scholarships are available for those in need.
