Join the Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers of Union County for their next Successful Gardener program on Thursday, October 3, 2019, at 7 p.m. The speaker will be Dr. Elsa Youngsteadt discussing “How to Operate a Successful Bee Hotel.” You will learn about some of the many beneficial species that you can attract to your garden with nesting materials and how to maintain a healthy bee hotel.
The Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers’ Fall Bulb & Plant Sale is this Saturday, October 12. The sale is 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. and is held at the greenhouse area in the Teaching Garden at the Union County Ag Center. The sale will feature a variety of unique spring-flowering bulbs, fruit trees, blueberries, heirloom mums, perennials, and native plants. Funds raised from the plant sales are used to support Extension Master Gardener volunteer educational programs offered to the community & include programs for youth in the county that are held at recreation centers, in schools, & 4-H summer nature camp.
If you have questions about bulbs, fall planting, ornamental plants, growing fruits, and vegetables, or insect, disease, or weed problems, attend the Successful Gardener program, stop by the Plant Sale, or call the Extension Master Gardener volunteers of Union County Growline at 704-283-3822.
